Asus is going to issue Eee PC with a processor Intel Atom

Asustek plans to release a new version of Asus Eee PC, which will be equipped with the processor Intel Atom. The event is scheduled for June 2008. Ultra-portable notebook Atom Eee PC will be presented at Computex in Taipei.

Processor Intel Atom provide a small power consumption, high thermal stability, which will increase from 0.6 to 2.5 watts. Processors will go with varying frequency from 800MHz to 1.86GHz, depending on the model. These processors are designed for small devices, such as the Mobile Internet Devices, Ultra-Mobile PC and the mini-budget laptop.

8.9″ Asus Eee PC 900, released last week, will initially meet with processors Intel Celeron M. PC World also reports that Asustek plans to release this year Eee PC with a 10″ display.
